Imran, Qadri appeals to protesters to remain peaceful

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman and Awami Tehreek Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri appealed to protesters to remain peaceful. Addressing his supporters on Monday, Dr Qadri claimed that police have arrested 25,000 PAT workers. He said police resorted to shelling, adding that the protesters were peaceful. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri said on Sunday that cases will be filed against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and other ministers concerned for murder charges, ARY News reported. Clashes are continuing in Pakistan between police and protesters demanding the resignation of PM Nawaz Sharif. Police again fired tear gas as the demonstrators tried to regroup after a night of violence near Mr Sharif's residence in the capital, Islamabad. Two people died during the clashes and at least 300 were injured. LAHORE: The Lahore police on Thursday, utilising its ‘discretionary powers’ filed First Information Report (FIR) in such a way that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif have been spared from either joining the investigation or being immediately arrested, The Express Tribune has learnt.
