LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri says his agenda is different from that of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan. LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has refused to become the part of investigation related to Model Town tragedy, Dunya News reported. Inspector General Punjab Police Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera had written a letter to Tahirul Qadri to join investigation into the incident. Countrywide rallies were held under the banner of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to express solidarity with the armed forces on the special instructions of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Hundreds of people attended the PAT rallies everywhere. Motor cycle rally was taken out from Aiwan-e-Iqbal to the Lahore Press Club in which hundreds of people took part. On June 17, 2014, police fired without warning on supporters of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) political party who had attempted to resist police demolition of security barriers erected by PAT in front of its headquarters in the Lahore residential area of Model Town. Call it the ‘Model Town fiasco’ or ‘tragedy’, call it whatever may suit your political ends but, irrespective of the spin, one thing was settled in the killing fields of Lahore on June 17: policing, as the world understands it, simply does not exist in Pakistan.
