Criticizing the government’s decision to double the load-shedding during the
holy month of Ramadan, Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, President of Pakistan Awami Tehreek,
has said that the government has little to show in terms of good performance and
its policies have pushed the people into abyss of problems and never ending crises.
He said that Karachi has virtually become a theater of war where warring parties
are fighting pitched battles for attaining ascendancy. The government’s writ does
not seem to be in sight. The government, he said, is headed on a collision course
with the Supreme Court by turning a deaf ear to the verdicts handed down by the
apex court of the country. He further stated that this grim situation bodes ill
for future.
Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani expressed these views while talking to a delegation of
PAT from District Bahalwalnagar, which called on him in his office yesterday.
He said that the problems are on the increase and there is no one to implement
the writ of the government. The wave of price hike and inflated power tariff would
further push the people into miserable situation. He asked the people to stand up
against the government and the best way to do so is to raise awareness about the
electoral system, which is the mother of all problems. He said that if the masses
made a vow to use the power of vote judiciously, the present lot of greedy politicians
would be nowhere in sight.
