Deputy Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz has said that the establishment of a national government would enable the country to get rid of the crises facing it. He said that doing so would be in accordance with the national interests and for establishment of real democracy in the country. He said that the clash of institutions was not in the interest of the nation.

Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz said that Parliament is supreme only when it represents the aspirations of the people. He said that the Parliament, which comes into being through the present system, would be protector of the interests of the 2% elite and would have nothing to do with 98% people.

Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz expressed these views in a meeting with a delegation of Pakistan Awami Lawyers Movement.

He underlined the need of strengthening institutions with a view to strengthening democracy in the country. Burying the dynastic politics was in the interest of Pakistan. He said that a system, which concentrated power in a few families, was the real enemy of the people and they needed to take to streets against the system. He said that elections under the present system would deepen the crisis in the country.
