PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that we will present our point
of view before the larger bench of the Supreme Court for constitution of a new JIT
to probe the Model Town tragedy. The SC is going to take up the petition at its
principal seat in Islamabad on December 5. He said that the establishment of a new
JIT is inevitable to open the doors of justice on the families of the martyrs. He
said that patience and perseverance with which the families have stayed put in their
legal struggle is laudable and does not have a parallel anywhere. He said that the
past rulers used every tactic in the book to buy the conscience of the family members
and intimidate them so that they could stop from pleading the case but they were
a massive failure in achieving their sinister designs. He said that we are proud
of our workers.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri made these remarks while talking to the family members of the
martyrs in a special meeting at his residence. Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Noorullah
Siddiqi, Sayyid Amjad Ali Shah, Hafiz Ghulam Farid, Tayyab Zia and others were also
present on the occasion.
Meanwhile in his message on the foundation day of MYL, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said
that journey of MYL spread of three decades is marked by love for book and peace.
He congratulated all the past and present office holders, and workers of MYL on
the 30th foundation day. He said that he was proud of the youth of MYL who have
been a great ambassadors of peace, knowledge and peaceful change. He said that the
circumstances could not deter them from their mission and they remained steadfast
and true to purpose. He said that we can say this with a lot of pride that MYL is
a model youth body that has demonstrated unflinching commitment to the causes of
the youth.
