Constitution, assemblies & democracy have been turned into a farce: PAT
PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that the Constitution, assemblies and democracy have been turned into a joke by the ruling elite. He said that those holding the reins of power should be in jails. He said that the political crisis continues to deepen by the day instead of decreasing, which is resulting in major problems for the people.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the burden of the massive debts is being shifted on to the next generations. He said that the legislatures that came into being as a result of the present electoral system have miserably failed to deliver. He said that the sale of political loyalty is a permanent feature of our so-called democratic system.
PAT Secretary General said that the members of legislatures should have discussed the serious issues such as deteriorating economy, appreciation in the value of dollar, increasing debt burden and the energy crisis. Rather they are busy talking about their own preservation in power. He said that the people are fed up with the current system and its protectors.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri had stated ten years ago that the present system was like the salt mine and even a diamond will become salt in it. He said that the system is eating into the vitals of state and society. He said that it is our considered advice to Imran Khan that instead of demanding a date for a new election, he should direct his effort and energy toward changing the system.
PAT Secretary General said that the constant appreciation in the value of dollar against rupee has disturbed every Pakistani. He said that the wealth of the ruling elite is in the form of dollars and when its value increases, it leads to increase in their wealth; whereas the poor are finding it nearly impossible to put food on the table in this era of hyper-inflation.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur expressed his deep concern on the threatening tone of the rulers against the honorable judiciary and said that the elite has held the system hostage in a variety of ways.
