Water Disruption is More Dangerous than a Nuclear Attack: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur
Violation of the Indus Water Treaty is a Conspiracy to Turn a 240 Million Population Country into a Desert
If the Water Crisis Continues, the Wheat Import Bill Will Exceed the Petroleum Products Bill
Water is a Shared Asset for All of Humanity, Secretary-General PAT
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, the Secretary-General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), has stated that India's violation of the Indus Water Treaty and the disruption of water supplies is more dangerous than a nuclear attack. He described the act of cutting off water as a deliberate conspiracy to turn a country with a population of 240 million into a desert. He pointed out that recently, the Prime Minister of Pakistan acknowledged at the ECO Summit that India, by violating the Indus Water Treaty, is flagrantly disregarding international laws. The nation wants to know what response the ECO member countries have provided on this critical issue.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur further warned that if leniency is shown on the water issue, Pakistan's import bill for wheat and rice will exceed that of petroleum products, a situation that Pakistan cannot afford. He emphasized that Pakistan must adopt an aggressive strategy to restore the Indus Water Treaty, and the government must do more than just issue statements. "Decisions on wars are no longer made by victories or defeats on the battlefield. Today, the measure of success or failure is the economy. The country with a strong economy is the victor, and the country with a weak economy is the defeated one." He stated that India is using water as a weapon to defeat Pakistan without engaging in a war.
