Political Philosophy of PAT
Pakistan Awami Tehreek is a truly democratic party, devoted to the uplift of masses in all avenues of social, cultural, political an d economic progress so as to ameliorate their quality of life and living standards. It aims at the eradication of poverty, violence, child labor and crimes against women and ensuring universal standard of respect for all human rights. It has a commitment to elimination of illiteracy, corruption, social injustice and all kinds of exploitation.

PAT believes in the supremacy of democratic rights of all citizens, which should entitled them to complete freedom and liberty.

a) Religious Freedom: This implies complete liberty in exercise of religious beliefs and practice in the light of their socio-religious traditions.

b) Socio Cultural Freedom: To uphold and practice social and cultural traditions, festivals, celebrations, rites and rituals and to adopt a social style of living according to their own customs.
We are sure that PAT with its objective to see a truly stable and viable democratic state ensuring the supremacy of law, human rights, socio-economic justice, eradication of corruption and illiteracy, and promotion of social and environmental health conditions will soon prove its acumen and give a major uplift to the country and nation.

c) Basic Human Rights: PAT believes in ensuring:

1) That all basic human rights are vested in all men and women.

2) That all men and women enjoy equality in the exercise of their basic rights.

3) That there is a complete guarantee and sanctity of their religious, socio-political and legal rights and freedom in practicing them according to the law and democracy.

4) No authority has any right to abrogate or suspend the fundamental human rights.

d) Equality of Rights: All citizens irrespective of religion, sect, sex, race, color or creed enjoy equal rights and no citizen enjoys preference over any other.		    Such example of supremacy of the judiciary is required to be ensured in our system. The same is being practiced in the western world. This is the true spirit of Islamic polity.  

  PAT believes in a democratic system whereby a progressive society is established based on a stable democratic process allowing the masses to participate in the making and operation of the government.

   PAT condemns the feudal culture in our governments whereby only a few feudal landlords, capitalists and hereditary politicians remain at the helm of each and every government. 

PAT advocates a fair electoral system whereby only capable, clean and honest persons are elected to the Assemblies.
PAT has proper, elaborate and well-conceived plans for reviving the national economy, law and order, foreign policy, and all other segments of the national setup.
     
  
   PAT believes in a ruthless impartial and transparent accountability institutionalized at all levels of political hierarchy and bureaucracy to eradicate corruption in our political culture.

   PAT believes in decentralization and devolution of power to the provincial governments so as to provide them with maximum autonomy.

   Devolution of power should go down to the level of district and local governments so that the masses may be able to participate in the process of democracy upto the grass root level.

   Freedom of Press and Media is the corner stone of the PAT political policy which is imperative to strengthen the democratic system ensuring equal access to electronic media for both the government and the opposition.
  PAT believes in the equitable socio-economic justice among all citizens so that citizens are dispensed speedy and visible justice without any discrimination, granting full independence to the judiciary.

A unique example of Islamic Justice is the historic case where a citizen went into appeal against an allotment by the first Muslim Caliph Abu Bakar Siddique (RA) in favor of a companion of the Prophet (PBUH). The petitioner challenged the case in the court of Umer (later, the second Muslim Caliph) then chief justice. The later cancelled the Caliph's allotment declaring it invalid. The companion went into appeal before the Caliph who refused to listen to the appeal on the plea that he could not entertain a case which was decided upon by the Chief Justice Umer.		 PAT believes in judicious exploitation and meticulous utilization of national resources so as to revive the economy with a well-conceived plan for accelerating agricultural and industrial production. This boost in output will improve the quality of life of every citizen, generate more jobs for the unemployed and enhance national development.

   PAT has proper, elaborate and well-conceived plans for reviving the national economy, law and order, foreign policy, and all other segments of the national setup.

   PAT believes in peaceful settlement of disputes through mutual negotiations and global peaceful environment through denuclearization.
