Loss of 14 Innocent Lives Has Left the Entire Nation in Mourning: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur

Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, expressed profound sorrow and grief over the tragic roof collapse in Kahna, saying that the accidental loss of 14 innocent lives has plunged the entire nation into mourning.

He made these remarks while visiting the homes of the bereaved families who lost their children in the devastating incident, where he offered his heartfelt condolences.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that no amount of financial compensation can ever alleviate the pain and suffering of mothers who have lost their beloved children. He added that, in this hour of immense tragedy, the entire nation stands in solidarity with the grieving families and shares their sorrow.

Describing the incident as a national tragedy, he said that while laws are enacted, a corrupt system and an ineffective administrative machinery fail to ensure their proper implementation. As a result, one tragedy is followed by another, yet the responsible institutions and officials continue to neglect their duties.

He further stated that it is deeply regrettable that many public officials remain indifferent to the pain and hardships of ordinary citizens. Unless accountability, responsibility, and the equal enforcement of the law are ensured, such tragic incidents will continue to occur.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur observed that under the existing system, the lives of children from wealthy and underprivileged families are not valued equally, despite the Constitution and the law recognizing every citizen's life as equally precious. He emphasized that it is the foremost responsibility of the state to ensure the safety and protection of every citizen without discrimination and to bring those responsible for negligence to justice in accordance with the law.

He reaffirmed that Pakistan Awami Tehreek stands firmly with the affected families during this difficult time and will not leave them to face their grief alone.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur offered prayers for the departed souls, expressed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved families, and assured them of every possible support and assistance.

Also present on the occasion were Iqbal Hussain Bajwa, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Lahore; Malik Ahmad Akhwan, President of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Lahore; Saqib Bhatti, General Secretary of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Lahore; along with other party leaders.
