Attack on Iran is Aggression, UN Must Intervene to Stop It: PAT
Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, stated that the attack on Iran is an act of aggression and strongly condemnable. He urged the United Nations to step in and play its role to prevent war. He warned that if the conflict escalates, it could lead to another major humanitarian disaster following Gaza.
He emphasized that the Muslim world is looking toward the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and it is imperative that the OIC intervenes to stop the attacks. Any aggression against a sovereign state is a grave violation of international law, and all disputes should be resolved through dialogue, he said.
The PAT Secretary General further urged Muslim countries to raise their voices against this aggression. Highlighting Iran's responsible conduct in the international arena, Gandapur noted that Iran has always fulfilled its global obligations and is currently engaged in negotiations with the United States. Since Iran is willing to resolve issues through dialogue, preference should be given to negotiations.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur added that the United States should play a constructive role in restoring peace, just as it did recently by helping broker a ceasefire between Pakistan and India. He called on the U.S. to replicate that role in the current situation as well.
