PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that character assassination of the armed forces was carried out uninterruptedly for 8 hours at a TV channel. He said that a state institution responsible for national security remained under attack for 8 hours. The country became a laugh stock in the world and punishment meted out for this offence was 15-day suspension of the TV channel and imposition of Rs. 10 million as fine. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that he would be coming to Pakistan in June than in July as previously announced. He said that the current obsolete and corrupt system had failed completely to resolve people’s problems. He said that the present governments came into being as a result of rigged elections that were presided over by an unconstitutionally composed Election Commission, adding that the establishment of new people’s democratic government had become inevitable. Speaking to these protest demonstrations through a video link, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that time for reconstruction of Pakistan had come. He said that if the present rulers stayed on in corridors of power, the people would be compelled to commit suicides. He said that he had no intention to derail democracy but added in the same breath that there was nothing in the country that could be interpreted as democracy in the country.
