Director Administration Minhajul Quran Jawad Hamid filed an application with the Faisal Town Police station on Thursday for registration of murder cases against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz and 21 others over Lahore mayhem. Earlier, PAT Chief Allama Tahirul Qadri had expressed no confidence in the provincial government and declined to lodge an FIR with police, which he claimed were killers of his party workers. PML (Q) leaders Senator Kamil Ali Agha, former Law Minister Dr Khalid Ranjha, Chairman Sunni Ittehad Council Sahibzada Hamid Raza accompanied by Jawad Hamid went to the police station to file the application. The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has strongly condemned police attack on Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri’s residence in Model Town on Tuesday, in which eight people were killed and at least 90 injured. In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the Commission said, “HRCP condemns in the strongest words possible the unfortunate events on Tuesday in which eight people, including two women, were killed at Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri’s residence when the administration reportedly tried to remove some barriers from roads around the place”. read more...
At least seven people have died in clashes between followers of a religious scholar and police in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore, hospital officials have said. Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Wednesday said that the whole nation knows who fired the bullets, adding that PAT workers were ‘mass-murdered.’ He demanded that the ‘so called democratic government’ must stop targeting the opposition with state violence, Dunya News reported. LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan extended support to Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) while speaking to media, Express News reported on Wednesday. Khan said PTI will stand by Dr Tahirul Qadri’s party till they get justice for the eleven killed and several injured as clashes erupted between Qadri’s supporters and police.
