Reacting to the verdict of Accountability Court handed down to Nawaz Sharif and the members of his family, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the punishment given to the Sharif family is disproportionate to the magnitude of crimes they committed but stated that he is happy that those considered to be untouchable have started to get into the accountability net. Addressing a crowded press conference in the central secretariat in Model Town, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that we will not become part of the electoral system that safeguards the corrupt elements who have declared a war on the state. Speaking on the occasion, he said that together with the legal fraternity of Pakistan, we would accelerate our struggle to get rid of the obsolete system and introduce reforms. Talking to the senior leaders at the consultative meeting, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the decisions with reference to Nawaz Sharif’s corruption and his being called to the court in Model Town case should be handed down without any further delay. He said that linking corruption cases with pre-poll rigging is a notoriously conspiratorial narrative.
