The women chapters of MQI and PAT got together before the Lahore Press Club to demand ‘Justice for Zainab’. Addressing the protest demonstration, central president of MWL, Ms. Farah Naz, said that she has no words to describe the cruelty perpetrated on young Zainab. Issuing a fact sheet, she said that 16185 rape cases of women were registered during the incumbency of the present government, adding that the number of unregistered rape cases runs into well over 30,000. PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri led the funeral prayer for 7-year-old girl, Zainab, who was brutally killed after being abducted and abused in Kasur. Talking to the media after the funeral prayer, he said that we would avenge the the blood of Kasur martyrs like the Model Town martyrs. All Parties Conference (APC) strongly condemns the Model Town tragedy and the purported attempt to change the wording of law regarding the finality of the prophethood. Model Town tragedy is the worst ever incident of state terrorism in which the top PML-N leadership including Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, Rana Sanaullah, police officers and bureaucrats are involved. They injured 100 people with live bullets in Model Town for their vested political interests in the garb of removing the barriers placed on the orders of the High Court, out of which 14 people were martyred. read more...
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari held a long one-on-one meeting today in which matters related to the agenda of tomorrow’s APC, justice for the martyrs of Model Town and the future of course of action came under discussion. Prior to one-on-one meeting, the delegations of the PAT and PPP met wherein legal issues regarding the Model Town case were discussed.
