Addressing a hurriedly called press conference, PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has announced his retirement from the position of the party's chairmanship and the practical politics. He said that PAT will continue to work, adding that he transferred all the powers back to the elected Supreme Council in line with the rules and regulations of the Election Commission. Addressing the ceremony held to mark the fifth anniversary of Model Town tragedy, PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that we continue to stand where we were five years ago in our struggle for justice. He said that we took our case to the Supreme Court of Pakistan for the formation of the JIT for a fair investigation into the tragedy. Quran khawani was arranged for the souls of the martyrs of Model town tragedy at more than 300 places across the country under the banner of PAT and MQI on the completion of five years of the Model Town massacre. These ceremonies were held to pay tributes to the men, women and youth who were martyred by Punjab police in the worst act of brutality committed in the broad daylight of June 17, 2014.
